If you are looking for a quick and easy hike near Seoul, you might want to check out Buramsan Mountain (불암산). This mountain is located in the north of Seoul, and offers a stunning view of the city and the surrounding mountains. You can complete the hike in about 3 hours, but you will be rewarded with some breathtaking scenery along the way.
How to Get There ?
The easiest way to get to Buramsan Mountain is to take the subway to Sanggye Station (상계역) on Line 4. From there, you can walk along the river until you reach a park. Then, follow the main road until you see a sign for the mountain trail. The trail is well-marked and easy to follow.
What to Expect ?
The hike to the top of Buramsan Mountain is not very difficult, but it does have some steep and rocky sections. You will need to climb some stairs and walk along some narrow ridges. The trail is no very popular like the famous ones, but you might encounter some people on weekends anyway. However, the views are worth it. You will be able to see the north part of Seoul, as well as the famous Bukhansan Mountain (북한산) in the distance. The summit of Buramsan Mountain is marked by a large rock with a Korean flag on it. You can take some photos and enjoy the panorama of Seoul from there.
How to Return ?
You can either return the same way you came, or you can take a different path for more variety. I decided to walk along the cliffs and follow the direction to Hwarangdae Station (화랑대역). This way, you can see more of the mountain and its natural beauty. You will also pass by some temples and monuments on your way down.
Buramsan Mountain is a great option for anyone who wants to experience some nature and culture without spending too much time. It is a short but scenic hike that will give you a different perspective of Seoul. I highly recommend it for anyone who loves hiking and exploring new places.
